Coolsculpting vs. Coolsculpting Elite: What’s The Difference

Coolsculpting is a non-invasive body contouring procedure that targets and destroys fat cells in the treated area. Also known as cryolipolysis, the technique uses a coolsculpting applicator to create a vacuum to draw the targeted area between two cooling plates, freezing and destroying fat cells without damaging the surrounding tissue. Because fat cells are more susceptible to damage from cold than other cells, they die off and are naturally eliminated by the body. The results are long-lasting and noticeable, though multiple treatments may be necessary for optimal results.

Coolsculpting Elite is the latest and most advanced version of this fat-freezing procedure. Using the same cryolipolysis technology, Coolscupting Elite remains a non-surgical and non-invasive treatment that destroys fat cells without needing needles or surgery. There is no downtime, and the treatment can be done in targeted areas of the body.

Improved Applicator Design for More Effective Results

Unlike the U-shaped Coolsculpting applicator, the Elite device comes with a C-shaped applicator and seven other applicators of various shapes and sizes to target specific areas of the body. The different applicators allow better contact with the treatment area and provide more uniform cooling. Studies have shown that Coolsculpting can remove between 18% to 20% of fat cells per visit, whereas Elite can eliminate between 20% to 25% of fat cells per visit.

Dual Applicators Decrease Treatment Time

In addition to its improved applicator design, Coolsculpting Elite also offers a dual applicator system. This feature allows two applicators to be used simultaneously during the same treatment session, significantly reducing the treatment time.

Minimize Discomfort from Squeezing of the Skin

Aside from increasing surface contact, the C-shaped applicator reduces the squeezing of the skin compared to the U-shaped applicator used in Coolsculpting. This results in a more comfortable experience for patients.
