How It Works

  1. Decide if it’s right for you. Not sure? Our nurse will help you decide.
  2. Link up with us on the phone or video. Pick a time with our nurse, then fill out a short health form (about 10 minutes). If it’s right for you, you can get your prescription the same day, on the call.
  3. Get the product shipped to your house, or pick it up in the store. Then we’ll discuss the best way for you to get it, whether you pick it up at our clinic or have it shipped to your house at no extra charge.

What Glutathione Is Studied For

Glutathione is one of the main antioxidants the body makes. Research looks at its role in:

Protecting cells from oxidative stress

Recycling other antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E

How the liver processes and clears substances

What the Research Shows

Human studies of injected glutathione are few, small and mostly by IV. We found no published trials of glutathione injected under the skin, the way it is used at home.

1991, 10 Healthy Volunteers (European Journal of Clinical Investigation)

After glutathione by IV, blood levels rose sharply, then halved in about 14 minutes, and levels in urine rose 300-fold.
1991 study on PubMed

2009, 21 People With Parkinson’s (Movement Disorders)

Four weeks of IV glutathione or placebo was well tolerated, with similar side effects in both groups and no significant difference in symptom scores.
2009 study on PubMed

Injected glutathione is not FDA-approved for any use. These studies don’t show that it treats any condition in people, and safety data in people are limited. Your free consultation with a nurse practitioner is the place to talk through what is and isn’t known.

Important Information

Compounded glutathione is not FDA-approved. It is available at Cienega by prescription when appropriate, after a consult with our medical team. This page is for general education and is not medical advice.

What Is Glutathione at Home?

Glutathione is an antioxidant your body makes in every cell. In our clinics, a nurse gives it as a shot, an IV push or an IV. Glutathione at home is prescribed for you after a free consultation: injections into the muscle that you give yourself, on the schedule your provider sets.

FAQ

  • How is glutathione at home different from an in-clinic glutathione shot?

In our clinics, a nurse gives you a shot, an IV push or an IV, and the price includes your nurse and the visit. At home, you give yourself smaller doses into the muscle on the schedule your provider sets, so one bottle covers many doses.

  • Is glutathione at home FDA-approved?

No. Glutathione for injection is compounded for you, and compounded medications are not FDA-approved. It is prescribed only when appropriate, after a consultation with our medical team.

  • What does it cost, and what is included?

Bottle prices are listed on this page. Every order includes one medication review fee, which covers the review and managing your prescriptions, and is charged once even when prescriptions go out as separate orders the same day. The consultation itself is free.

  • How long does a bottle last, and how do refills work?

That depends on what your provider prescribes, so it is not something we can put a number on here. Your nurse practitioner tells you at your review roughly how long a bottle should last for you and when it would make sense to order again. You can order as many bottles as your nurse prescribes while you’re on the call, and when you need more, book another call online or call us. Each call where you order adds one $49 medication review. Nothing renews on its own. If you’d like bottles sent on a regular schedule, ask your nurse: it’s worked out case by case, since everyone’s prescription is different.

  • Where does my prescription come from?

Your prescription is filled by a licensed U.S. 503A compounding pharmacy.

  • Can I collect it or have it shipped?

Both. Collect at West Hollywood, Santa Monica or Calabasas, where we pack it for you and show you how to inject it, all covered by the medication review fee. Or we ship it to your home anywhere in California, at no extra charge.
