• Where can Ultherapy be used?

  Ulthera may be used to treat loose or lax skin on the face, neck, chest, breasts, abdomen, knees, elbows, and essentially anywhere that needs tissue mild “shrinkage” or reduction/lift.

• Who is a great candidate for Ultherapy?

  Ulthera is recommended for areas where the skin starting to show some degree of laxity or “looseness”. Ulthera is also recommended for areas where collagen has broken down. Loose skin under the chin or neck, droopy eyelids and a loose jawline signal a potential great candidate for treatment. Under eye bags are also a great treatment area. While Ulthera is NOT a replacement for a surgical facelift or skin reduction, it can help those with the early signs of aging, as well, those who want a natural looking lift. Ulthera is also ideal for those looking to prolong the effects of a surgical facelift. If you are NOT ready for surgery (mentally, physically or financially) then Ulthera may be for you!

• What is an Ulthera treatment like?

  On your first visit with us, an Ulthera specialist will evaluate your specific needs and answer any questions you have. They will discuss what treatment plan is best to achieve your desired results. During the procedure, your nurse will use Ulthera ultrasound imaging to view deep within the skin to determine the best depths to administer treatment. Your nurse will scan treatment areas to then direct ultrasound waves in three different penetration depths to target fine lines, wrinkles and to target skin lifting. Ulthera gently heats the tissue to lift and tighten loose skin without disrupting the surface of the skin. At Cienega Medical, Ulthera treatments are performed by experienced registered nurses. Your nurse will work to ensure your comfort during the procedure.

• Is there any downtime from Ulthera?

  No, there is no downtime with Ulthera. When your treatment has finished, you are able to return to normal activities immediately after. There is no recovery time and no scarring. You are not required to stay out of the sun, and there is no post treatment care you will need to conduct.

• What should I expect from my Ulthera treatment?

  Immediately post treatment you may see some initial tightening, which serves as a “preview” of the results to come. You are able take care of your skin as usual post treatment. You are able to workout, tan, or travel as usual post treatment. There is no downtime with Ulthera.

• Does Ulthera hurt?

  Comfort levels during the procedure vary from person to person. Typically patients will take either Tylenol or Ibuprofen 45 minutes prior to treatment and use local numbing cream. Any mild discomfort or sensation that is experience is only while the energy is being delivered.

• How long does Ulthera take?

  The length of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and patient’s individual treatment plan. A face and neck procedure typically takes 60-90 minutes. A small area like the chin or around the eyes may take 20-30 minutes.

• How do I get the best results from Ulthera?

  In brief, do not use ant-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen post treatment as these will may slow down the factors that stimulate new collagen production.

• How does Ulthera compare to laser tightening?

  Ulthera is 100x more powerful than treatments like Thermage, Pelleve or other similar treatments because it targets depths not reached with other devices, which ultimately target dramatic skin lifting. • When should I receive Ulthera?

  Ulthera is suitable to receive prior to a special event, however in some rare cases bruising may occur, which can be covered with makeup.

• Who should not receive Ulthera?

  Those who have: Any area of cystic acne breakouts. Open wounds near treatment area. Anyone looking to treat an area treated with injectable fillers within the last 3 months. Anyone who has had Botox/Dysport in areas of desired treatment within last 2 weeks. Anyone looking to treat over an active implant such as a pacemaker. Men should be clean shaven prior to treatment.

• Is this authentic Ulthera?

  How do I know if my practitioner is using an authentic Ulthera system for my Ultherapy treatment? Often imitated, never replicated; while many claim treatment by Ulthera, they may be using counterfeit devices that fail to live up the Ulthera claim. For example, Ultra Therapy is NOT authentic.
