• What is Lipo-MIC B, and what is it studied for?

  Lipo-MIC B is a take-home injection of methionine, inositol and choline, the three lipotropic compounds the MIC stands for, plus vitamin B12. It is not a peptide. On its own it does not cause weight loss, and we will not tell you otherwise. Lipotropic injections have not been shown in controlled clinical trials to produce meaningful weight loss by themselves, and people most often use them as one part of a broader plan, which is what a free consultation is for.

• Is Lipo-MIC B FDA-approved?

  No. The compounded Lipo-MIC B formulation is not FDA-approved. Vitamin and nutrient injections like this one are prescribed at a provider's discretion after an individual evaluation, which is what the free consultation is for.

• What are the risks of Lipo-MIC B, and who should avoid it?

  Lipo-MIC B is not right for everyone. Your nurse practitioner reviews your health history, current medications and any existing conditions before prescribing and will tell you if it is not a fit. Bring your current medication list to the free consultation.

• What does it cost, and what is included?

  Bottle prices are listed on this page. Every order includes one medication review fee, which covers the review and managing your prescriptions, and is charged once even when prescriptions go out as separate orders the same day. The consultation itself is free.

• How do I start?

  Pick a time for a free telehealth visit with a nurse practitioner, by phone or video. Before your visit, you fill out a short health form. They go through your health history, your current medications and what you are trying to achieve, then tell you whether this is a sensible fit. Not everyone is, and if you are, they write the prescription and you pay for your bottles plus one medication review fee.

• Where does my prescription come from?

  Your prescription is filled by a licensed U.S. 503A compounding pharmacy.

• How long does a bottle last, and how do refills work?

  That depends on what your provider prescribes, so it is not something we can put a number on here. Your nurse practitioner tells you at your review roughly how long a bottle should last for you and when it would make sense to order again. You can order as many bottles as your nurse prescribes while you’re on the call, and when you need more, book another call online or call us. Each call where you order adds one $49 medication review. Nothing renews on its own. If you’d like bottles sent on a regular schedule, ask your nurse: it’s worked out case by case, since everyone’s prescription is different.

• Can I collect it or have it shipped?

  Both. Collect at West Hollywood, Santa Monica or Calabasas, where we pack it for you and show you how to inject it, all covered by the medication review fee. Or we ship it to your home anywhere in California, at no extra charge.
