Why Cienega Medical

Good filler work is a plan, not a single spot. Adding volume to one hollow can leave it looking heavy, while a little support at the cheekbones and along the jawline lifts the whole face. That is how our nurse injectors approach every visit: they look at your full face, tell you honestly what will help, and give you the price before anything is booked.

We have been a neighborhood clinic in Los Angeles since 2010, with three locations in West Hollywood, Santa Monica and Calabasas.

"Celeste is amazing! I knew I was interested in lip filler but I was so hesitant to get anything else done. Once I had my consultation with her, she made me feel at ease and super confident in my decision to get not only lip filler, but chin and cheek filler as well and it was the best decision ever! I feel so pretty and refreshed and I keep getting compliments even on days that I'm bare-faced and not well rested! Celeste has such a good hand for injections that I luckily got minimal to no bruising and hardly felt any pain during my session. Of course I had some swelling but by the next day I was out and about like nothing had ever happened and everything settled in natural looking and subtle just how I wanted. Celeste is my go to girl! Will I be back? ABSOLUTELY! Her professionalism and attention to detail have me excited for my next session with her!"

What Can Fillers Treat?

All treatments performed by Cienega Medical

The Fillers We Use

Restylane Kysse for lips. Restylane and Restylane Contour to restore volume and shape in the cheeks, jawline and temples, matched to the area by your injector. Sculptra, a collagen stimulator, for volume that builds gradually over a few months. And if you have hyaluronic acid filler you are not happy with, we can dissolve it.

Looking for Botox, Dysport or Xeomin? Those are wrinkle relaxers, a different treatment. See wrinkle relaxers.

How Fillers Work

There are two kinds of filler, and they work differently.

Hyaluronic acid fillers: Restylane, Restylane Kysse, Restylane Contour
A smooth gel that adds volume the moment it is placed. You see the change right away, it settles over about two weeks, and it typically lasts 6 to 12 months or longer depending on the product and the area. Because it is hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved if you ever want to change course.

Collagen stimulators: Sculptra
Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid. Instead of filling on the spot, it prompts your skin to build its own collagen, so results appear gradually over a few months and can last up to two years. It usually takes more than one visit, and it cannot be dissolved.

Your injector will tell you which one fits your face and your goals at your free consultation.

Start With a Free Consultation

Every plan starts with a free consultation. Your injector looks at your whole face, walks you through the options, and tells you what it will cost before anything is booked.

For filler we use the Restylane family, including Restylane Kysse for lips and Restylane Contour for the cheeks, plus Sculptra when a gradual, longer-lasting result makes more sense. Restylane fillers can be dissolved if you ever want to undo them.

FAQ

Click on a question to see more

  • What are injectable fillers?

When the signs of aging begin to appear, and a surgical facelift is out of the question, injectable fillers instantly improve age related volume loss, fine lines, frown lines, sagging skin, thin lips, sunken areas & much more.

  • What does a filler treatment look like?

When you come in for your free consultation, a highly trained Cienega Medical nurse will evaluate the areas of your concern and educate you on the possibilities of injectable fillers and Botox. You will learn about results, treatment, any possible downtime and follow up care in detail. You will also learn about the different products and understand which product may be best for you. If you choose to treat same day, a FREE medical grade numbing cream will be applied (per your request) and treatment will commence. Most areas do not require numbing cream because the product will contain lidocaine. Treatments are typically comfortable with a mild level of pain, if any.

  • How Do Injectable Fillers Work?

Fillers are placed beneath the skin to add volume, soften lines and shape features like the cheeks, jawline and lips. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane hold water, so the treated area looks fuller right away with little to no downtime. Collagen stimulators such as Sculptra work more slowly, prompting your skin to build its own collagen over a few months. Your injector will recommend the right one for your goals.

  • What Issues Do Injectable Fillers Correct?

At Cienega Medical in Los Angeles, our injectable fillers effectively address a range of cosmetic concerns. These include softening wrinkles and fine lines, restoring lost volume in cheeks and lips, enhancing facial contours, minimizing the appearance of scars, and even rejuvenating hands. Our expert practitioners tailor treatments to each individual's needs, offering safe and non-surgical solutions for achieving a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

  • How long does a treatment take?

Treatments typically take about 15-45 minutes or more depending on the area(s) you wish to have treated.

  • What kind of results will I see?

With filler you can soften folds and creases, define your jawline, restore volume in your cheeks and add shape to your lips. The change is visible right away and settles over about two weeks.

If you are also thinking about lines on your forehead or around your eyes, those are usually treated with wrinkle relaxers like Botox, which soften the muscle movement that causes them.

  • How many treatments will I need?

Your treatment outcomes can only be determined during your free consultation, in which we will discuss if more than one treatment may be necessary.

  • How soon will I see results?

Once treated, you may return to work, or travel. With injectable fillers, results are typically seen instantly, with the exception of Botox, which may take up to 14 days to take effect.

  • What does the treatment feel like?

Typically no feeling is experienced during a Botox or filler treatment other than a small poke.

  • Do facial injections hurt?

If you are very sensitive, you may opt for a numbing cream to be applied, to which no sensation may be experienced upon injecting. For cheek fillers and jawline fillers, you may feel a slight amount of tension where injected. Most people typically receive treatment with no numbing cream as they describe the treatments to have little to no pain.

  • Will my results look natural?

Absolutely! Our highly trained and very experienced registered nurses know just the right approach to take for each unique individual. At Cienega Medical you can expect that your treatments will be done with a discerning and artful approach, one that will yield a natural and subtle enhancement. When fillers are done right, it truly takes years off of one’s appearance, and looks natural.

  • What areas of the face can be treated?

Nearly any area of the face or hands can be injected and corrected.

  • How are Cheeks treated with Fillers?

Filler placed along the cheekbones restores volume lost with age and gives the midface a subtle lift. We use Restylane Contour or Sculptra here. Supporting the cheeks can also soften the look of sagging along the jawline.

  • Do Dermal Fillers Compare To Face Lifts?

Dermal fillers offer a non-surgical alternative to facelifts. While both address signs of aging, they differ in approach and longevity. Fillers provide temporary results by adding volume and reducing wrinkles, typically lasting 6-18 months. Facelifts, on the other hand, are surgical procedures that lift and tighten sagging skin, offering longer-lasting outcomes. The choice between the two depends on individual goals, budget, and tolerance for downtime. Our experts can help clients decide the best option for their unique needs, ensuring a tailored approach to facial rejuvenation.

  • How are FROWN LINES & LIP LINES treated with fillers?

Lines between the brows are usually treated with a wrinkle relaxer like Botox, which softens the muscle that creates them. Fine lines above the upper lip can be softened with a small amount of Restylane Kysse. Your injector will suggest the right approach at your consultation.

  • How are Lips treated with fillers?

For lips we use Restylane Kysse, a hyaluronic acid filler made for natural-looking volume and shape. Many people start with a half syringe for a subtle change, or a full syringe for more. See our lip injections page for options.

  • How is the chin treated with fillers?

A recessed chin can be brought forward with filler, which also helps balance the nose and jawline in profile. Your injector will recommend the product and amount at your consultation.

  • How is the nose treated with fillers?

Create a nose bridge or smooth out the profile of a “bump”. Hyaluronic acid filler can build a smoother profile, and it can be dissolved if needed.

  • How is the jawline treated with fillers?

Filler placed along the jawline and chin adds definition, for a subtle or a more sculpted look. We use Restylane Contour or Sculptra. See our jawline filler page for options.

  • How are the hands treated with fillers?

Hands often show age before the face does. As they lose volume, veins and tendons stand out more. Filler restores that volume so your hands look smoother and fuller. We use Restylane Contour or Sculptra, depending on your needs. See our hand rejuvenation page.

  • How are under eyes treated with fillers?

If you are tired of looking tired, injections around the eyes give a great impact while looking smooth and cohesive. We can carefully place a small amount of hyaluronic acid filler under the eyes and rid you of that annoying trough that has formed and makes you look tired. It really makes such a difference, you literally won’t believe your eyes.

  • Are injectable fillers something men can do too?

Yes. In fact, more and more men are discovering that it pays to look your best in a competitive world. The competition seems to keep getting younger every day, and you don’t have to accept the signs of aging on your face.

  • Who is the ideal candidate for injectable fillers?

Anyone in their mid to late 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s who wish to subtly enhance their appearance. Ideal candidates for injectable fillers are individuals seeking to enhance facial contours, reduce fine lines, or restore volume. Good candidates are typically in good overall health, have realistic expectations, and wish to address concerns such as wrinkles, sagging skin, or thin lips. Injectable fillers are a minimally invasive option for those looking to achieve a more youthful appearance without surgery. Our experienced staff will assess each patient's unique needs to determine if they are a suitable candidate for this non-surgical rejuvenation option.

  • Are injectable fillers permanent?

No. Botox and fillers are temporary and fade gradually. Botox is usually repeated every 3 to 6 months. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Restylane typically last 6 to 12 months or longer, depending on the product and the area, and Sculptra results can last up to two years. Touch-ups keep your results looking their best.

  • Are injectables to the face safe?

Yes, in trained hands. Botox and the fillers we use are FDA-approved, and your injector reviews your health history first to make sure treatment is right for you.

  • Is there any downtime from facial fillers?

Yes, some downtime may be experienced such as swelling and bruising. Medical considerations and restrictions for being treated

  • Who should not get facial fillers?

Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Those with an infection at or near desired treatment site. Those who are planning on working out same day of the appointment. Those who were drinking the night before, or will plan to drink same day of your appointment (may make bruising more apparent). Other medical considerations will be covered during your free consultation.

  • Are there any side effects of facial fillers?

The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness where the filler was placed. They usually fade within a few days to two weeks. Rarely, filler can cause lumps, infection or a blocked blood vessel, which is why it should only be done by a trained medical injector. Your injector will go over the risks with you before treatment.

This is not a full list of side effects.

  • What should I do to get ready for my treatment?

If you can, avoid alcohol, fish oil and anti-inflammatory pain relievers like Advil for a few days beforehand, since they can make bruising more likely. Check with your doctor before stopping any medication. If you have an event coming up, book at least two weeks ahead so any swelling has time to settle.

  • Can I get facial fillers before a special event or travel?

We generally recommend NOT receiving an injectable filler treatment right before a special event or meeting as swelling or bruising may develop.

  • How much do dermal fillers cost in Los Angeles?

Filler at Cienega starts at $450 and goes up to $750, depending on how much product the area needs. Every option and its price is listed on this page, and the consultation is free.

How many syringes you need depends on the area and your starting point, which is what the consultation settles before anything is charged.
