Where Your Medication Comes From

Every prescription we offer is dispensed through licensed United States pharmacies. No research-chemical sites, no gray market, ever.

Licensed U.S. Pharmacies

Compounded medications are prepared by licensed U.S. compounding pharmacies, regulated under state boards of pharmacy and federal law (Section 503A of the FD&C Act).

Prescription Only

Nothing is dispensed without a prescription from our medical team, written after your consultation and health review.

Prepared for You

Compounded prescriptions are patient-specific: prepared for you, labeled with your name, and dosed to your provider's directions.

Supervised Start to Finish

Your provider reviews your response and adjusts your plan over time. You are never buying a vial on your own; you are in a supervised medical program.

Important Information

Most peptides are not FDA-approved for the uses discussed publicly, and are prescribed at the discretion of a licensed provider after an individual evaluation. A peptide is not appropriate for everyone, and individual results vary.

Peptide therapy at Cienega Medical is available by prescription only. You start with a consultation with one of our nurse practitioners, who reviews your health history, your goals, and whether a peptide is appropriate for you. If it is, they write the prescription and we prepare it for your visit. If it is not, they will tell you that too.

What Is Peptide Therapy?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the same building blocks that make up proteins. The body produces many peptides naturally, and they have been studied for decades as signaling molecules in biology. A few are FDA-approved for specific medical uses and many are still research compounds, so regulatory status varies from one peptide to the next. We are transparent about the status of each and prescribe every peptide through a medical consultation.

FAQ

  • What is a peptide?

A peptide is a short chain of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. Amino acids are the same building blocks that form proteins; peptides are generally shorter sequences. Peptides occur naturally throughout the body and are also studied in laboratory and pharmaceutical research as a distinct molecular class.

  • Are peptides FDA-approved?

Some are. A few peptides are FDA-approved for specific medical uses, including Tesamorelin (brand name Egrifta) and one form of PT-141 (brand name Vyleesi). In July 2026, an FDA advisory committee voted to recommend allowing pharmacies to compound several other popular peptides, including BPC-157 and TB-500. The rest remain research compounds. We are transparent about the status of each one and prescribe them through a medical consultation, not over the counter.

  • Does Cienega Medical offer peptides?

Yes. Peptide therapy is available by prescription, following a consultation with one of our nurse practitioners. Peptides are not available without a consultation, because whether a given peptide is appropriate depends on your health history and goals. The consultation can be done online.

  • How do I start?

Book a consultation. One of our nurse practitioners will review your health history and goals with you, and if a peptide is appropriate they will write the prescription and we will order it for your visit. Your card is charged when the prescription is processed.
